The Syrian military and foreign ministry did not immediately comment on the White House warning though a Syrian state-run television station, al-Ikhbariya, said the White House's allegations were fabricated.

White House officials released a statement claiming that another chemical weapons attack would be the "mass murder of innocent children" and promised the dictator would "pay a heavy price". President Donald Trump previously ordered an April 7 cruise missile strike on one of Assad's airfields after a sarin gas attack on civilians. That strike marked the first direct military action taken by the USA against Mr Assad's regime since the beginning of the country's six-year civil war. The message arrives months after a deadly April attack on the Syrian people that's widely regarded as the work of the Assad government.

But Britain's defense secretary said the United Kingdom would support any USA military action if Syria were to launch another chemical attack.

"We are very clear the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime is absolutely abhorrent and the last time the United States took action to deal with the aircraft and airbase from which these chemical weapons were used we fully supported their strike".

"I can tell you that due t0 the president's actions, we did not see an incident", Haley said Wednesdaym according to The Hill.

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley holds up her hand as she votes in favor on a Draft resolution that condemns the reported use of chemical weapons in Syria at the Security Council at UN Headquarters in NY on April 12, 2017.

Shipman said he has no intention of paying either citation and that he and the officer already spoke about meeting again in court. The video started off with Shipman asking the officer what he had done wrong. "I didn't escalate the situation".

White House spokesperson Sean Spicer had said that the USA government has "potential" evidence to suggest Syrian President Bashar-al Assad is planning another attack and warned his military that it "will pay a heavy price" if it carries it out.

MEUSE: Exactly, so the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which tracks the conflict, says that an airstrike believed to have been carried out by the USA -led coalition hit an ISIS prison in eastern Syria.

The latest flare-up comes after a relatively quiet period over the past several days, following weeks of clashes between USA forces and their local partners, and opposing Syrian and Iranian-backed forces. "So I would like to think that the president saved many innocent men, women and children". Given that opposition to Syria's ally Iran is emerging as the organizing principle of the Trump administration's Mideast strategy, it seems unlikely that the US will agree to simply cede areas captured from ISIS back to Assad.
