Sanders Says Fraud Investigation into Wife Won't Be 'Distraction'


Bernie Sanders and his wife have lawyered up amid a federal investigation into a loan that Jane Sanders took out while in charge of a now defunct Vermont college, according to reports.

Burlington College was a private, non-profit liberal arts college that was placed on probation in July 2014 for failing to meet the standards regarding financial resources and ultimately closed down on May 27, 2016. She told CBS News that the loan was approved by the college's financial board.

After months of murmurs surrounding alleged bank fraud, the FBI investigation into a $10 million loan took out by Jane Sanders while president of Burlington College has come to a head.
